Protecting our Beautiful Environment
Climate change is an existential threat, both to our environment and our economy, making this a top priority for me. I am fortunate to have grown up in Colorado, the most beautiful state in the union, and therefore I am dedicated to maintaining our beautiful public lands and addressing climate threats. Coloradans are seeing the threats of climate change on a daily basis, and I have proudly sponsored and supported bold, action-oriented climate policy in the state legislature that supports local economies. In order to maintain our amazing Colorado culture, it is essential that we combat climate change. My environmental legislation spans water conservation, stream restoration and pollution prevention. I have also worked to expand solar energy access and support Colorado's outdoor recreation economy.

HB26-1008: Colorado Outdoor Opportunities Act
This sweeping piece of legislation strengthens Colorado's management of outdoor recreation, wildlife and conservation through better coordination with local communities, tribes and landowners.
SB26-016: Prohibit Discharge of Preproduction Plastic Materials
We banned the discharge of plastic pellets into Colorado's land and water, targeting a leading source of microplastic pollution.
SB26-171: Disposal of Preproduction Plastic Materials
This law requires certified disposal sites for preproduction plastic materials, helping keep them out of Colorado's waterways and environment.
SB26-101: Local Government Landfill Methane Emission Reduction Regulations
We eased the cost of methane emission compliance for publicly owned landfills by expanding access to state funding sources.
HB26-1342: Knowingly Luring Bears
This law prevents dangerous human-bear conflicts by increasing penalties for people who negligently attract bears.

HB25-1014, Streamline Certain Processes Within the Division of Water Resources
This bipartisan law makes three main changes to water management in Colorado: water well permit expiration, groundwater permitting, and the water rights abandonment process. These increased efficiencies and process improvements allow the Department of Water Resources to focus on their essential responsibilities by saving time on paperwork and administrative tasks.
